News according to Pulse NG is that the
lead single “Gbagbe Oshi” off Davido’s
EP “Son Of Mercy ” was bought from
veteran dance hall artiste “General
Pype”.
DMW boss and Sony Music act Davido is
once again in the news. This time a
reliable source according to Pulse NG,
has revealed that the lead single (Gbagbe
Oshi) from Davido’s EP “Son Of Mercy”
was not originally written and owned by
Davido.
The gist is that Davido bought the song
from veteran Nigerian dance hall artiste,
General Pype. Story has it that “Gbagbe
Oshi” was written and performed by
General Pype two years ago during
Industry Nite. The song was never
officially released by General Pype.
Davido and his team connected with the
dance hall artiste and bought the rights
to the song. Buy price was put at about
over N1 million. Same song was re-
recorded by Davido with production
input from Shizzi. “Gbagbe Oshi” has
Davido attempting to speak in patois for
a few seconds into the song.
This kind of news is not new when
Davido’s artistry is put in perspective.
We have heard him buy songs from
other artistes in the past. “Gobe” and
“Aye” are some of his hit songs bought
from other artistes.
This was spotted on Palmchat and decided to share with you guyz.

A local Nigerian footballer Harrison
Chinedu, remarkably broke the
Guinness World record of cycling for
64 miles with a football balanced on
his head.
Wearing the Super Eagles jersey,
Chinedu rode his bicycle with a ball
on his head from the beach to the
National stadium, Surulere, while
fans, drivers and passersby, sang and
cheered him on as he attempted the
bizarre feat.
According to Chinedu, he had tried the
feat in March this year but failed
when he reached 30 miles, but after
several rehearsals and training, made
up his mind to carry out the feat
again.
After the feat, he said:
“My biggest motivation was that I
believe in showcasing my God-given
talent. I know I have the skill and I
want to show the world what I can do.
This one is a record created by me and
I am happy that I have done my own
side. And it’s left for the Guinness
World Records to ratify it and bring
back results.”
Lagos State Government has cancelled
the monthly environmental sanitation
exercise held every last Saturday of the
month.
The cancellation followed a resolution
arrived at in Wednesday’s Executive
Council meeting which approved the need
for a review of the environmental laws
and procedures in the state in order to
meet the present day challenges and to
promote a clean and healthy.
The Commissioner for Information and
Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, in a
statement said the cancellation of the
monthly exercise became necessary due
to present economic realities in the
country.
The statement said, “It is no longer
appropriate to restrict movement of
people for three hours in a mega city like
Lagos at a time they should be pursuing
commercial and entrepreneurial
activities.
“In the last two decades, Lagos has
grown exponentially into a mega city
with the attendant huge environmental
problems associated with managing a
population of over twenty million people.
“But sadly, the environmental laws,
policies and procedures being practiced
in the State have not been able to match
the phenomenal growth and the dream of
a 24-hour economy, hence the need for
the reform.”
Ayorinde said the State Government was
aware of a recent Court of Appeal
judgment.
He said that the thrust of the fresh
initiatives, among others, is to promote
holistic and modern solutions to the
unique environmental challenges
confronting the State, while encouraging
citizens to voluntarily partner with
government to achieve the desired goals.
It said, “After a careful consideration,
the State Executive Council has therefore
resolved that the present economic
climate can no longer support the
continued lock down of a mega city like
Lagos, when the citizens should be free to
engage in commercial and
entrepreneurial activities that can
promote economic growth and
prosperity.
“Furthermore, Government will also
accelerate the introduction of fresh
reforms through the passage of the new
harmonized environmental laws that will
drive meaningful changes in areas of
harmonized billing, waste management,
modern Landfill sites, noise pollution,
introduction of an Environmental Trust
Fund and an Environmental Advisory
Council.
“The Government wishes to reiterate its
strong commitment to a clean and secure
environment for the benefit of its
citizens, and will continue to provide the
necessary leadership to meet the
environmental challenges of a mega city
like Lagos. Lagosians and visitors alike
are therefore urged to embrace these
changes and imbibe a culture of
voluntarily maintaining and preserving
their environment to create a beautiful
and healthy city that we all can be proud
of.”
The statement added that the State
Government would henceforth be tougher
in ensuring expeditious enforcement
against contraventions of its policies and
regulations and as such, residents should
voluntarily comply with the necessary
laws and support government in its bid
to have a clean and healthy environment

Kanye West is pro-Donald Trump and is in
full support of the US President-elect. Of
course, his fans are not finding it funny.
The controversial rapper's stand should hardly
come as a surprise as he has continually proved
himself to be divergent.
Kanye made his great reveal while on stage at a
concert in San Jose, California, which was
heralded with boos and shocked reactions on
social media.
Considering the fact that majority of his fellow
artists and African American celebrities
supported Trump's rival Hillary Clinton , the
rapper on-stage speech left much to be desired.
Kanye told the audience on Thursday, November
17, that he would have voted for Trump if at all
he had voted.
He said, “Because I’m a celebrity, everyone told me
not to say that I loved the debates, I loved his
approach."
According to Kanye, Trump would bring about
change by exposing racism, neglecting the fact
that the billionaire had made racist remarks on
more than one occasion.
“If people are racist and they feel more inspired to
say how they feel, then they’re exposing
themselves.
“To black people — stop focusing on racism. This
world is racist, okay? Let’s stop being distracted to
focus on that as much,” he said.
Kanye also seemed pretty serious in his plan to
run against Trump for Presidency in 2020.
“I don’t say 2020 because I disrespect our president
at all. … I’ve just got some ideas about the way we
should connect.”
He also suggested that President Barack Obama
and Clinton should support Trump by advising
him and inadvertently, running the United States
through “collective ideas.”
However, Kanye acknowledged that fact that his
fan base was not pro-Trump, wondering aloud to
the crowd if the rest of his tour would be sold
out.

Femi Kuti reveals that his father, Femi Kuti,
wanted him to be an area boy.
Femi Anikulapo-Kuti has made some
startling disclosures about his relationship
with his father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, and his
ambitions for him.
The legendary afrobeat singer » says the late
Afrobeat pioneer wanted him to forfeit his
education for music and become an ‘area boy’.
Femi says that Fela used him as a guinea pig to
prove that formal education had no sway on
being a success in life.
Speaking during an interview with The Net , Femi
said,
“My father didn’t want me to study music because I
was more of an experimental guinea pig to prove a
point that you do not need education to be
successful and he wanted to use me to prove to his
brothers that the education he got was not what
made him.
“So I was like a guinea pig which I really
vehemently protested against but when I became
successful and I complained again, my father said
‘are you famous? Are you not successful? Oya shut
up.’
“But I was still very angry because I’m more of a
street boy. I may speak well, it’s because I read a
lot of books and I’m very well informed but my
father wanted me to be more like an area boy.
“Back then if I got back from school and said I got
ZERO in Mathematics, he’ll say that’s very good.
“I used to be among the bad boys in school that’ll
jump the fence to go and watch Chinese movies at
the cinema and if we get caught and my father
hears about it, he’ll say ‘very good’.
“My father wanted me to be the head of the ‘most
baddest boys’ in school (laughs).
“If I did well in my science subjects, he was very
unimpressed but if I did bad things, he’ll be like
‘that’s my boy’ because that’s what he wanted and
in the long run you could say he proved and made
his point because I became successful."
In a way, Fela made a point as Femi who was
once written off due to his wayward lifestyle,
turned out to be a success in the end.
Femi adds, “I didn’t get the education and my mum,
his brothers were all so scared that I’ll be a
complete failure. Nigeria wrote me off, you can’t
imagine how big my father was in those days and
then his first son (me) had no school, no education,
smoking igbo, doing all the bad things everyone else
was running from.
“I was totally written off. Back then If a girl
introduces me to her parents they’ll be the end of
the relationship, even my marriage broke up
because of such stigmas of being Fela’s son.
“So if you look at it well, I’m not supposed to be
successful, but those that know my history know
the significance because I was a failure,” he
added.
Femi is the eldest of seven children born to Fela
Kuti and has rebranded what the late legend
stood for yet creating the same quality and genre
of music.

Singer D’banj, in a recent interview,
has revealed that Nigerian artistes
make music for the money involved.
The ‘Emergency’ crooner, who spoke
with the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) on Thursday, said artistes will
work harder when they get paid for
their works.
In his words:
“A musician is supposed to know how
to play good music or collaborate with
others to make good music in order to
get paid for the services.
“We are not releasing music for it to
be on You Tube or some other social
media to make us popular. A musician
should create room for some other
persons to contribute to his music to
make it worth the people’s while.
“We are releasing music to make
money and to have money to help
ourselves and our families,” he said.
On versatility, D’banj , noted that he is
open to other genres of music, but you just have to
do the one that suits a song. As an
entertainer, I have to be versatile in
what I do.”
